My Current Best Buy
Lots of people argue that Chilean wine is the best buy out there and I often agree. Chile produces some of the best priced table wine available in Canada. Very drinkable, at generally a very reasonable cost.
For me however, the head of the pack is a wine from one of the Cono Sur vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. It is an organic red Cabernet Sauvignon/Carmenere which is selling for under $14.00 in Saskatchewan.
This is an earthy, robust wine with a great nose and soft tannins. Great with red meat. I had it with a pork stew the other day and it was perfect.
The winery's motto sums it up, No family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine.
